"Growing up seeing my father draw and create art has deeply shaped me
and fueled my artistic inspiration.."

My name is Thanthanet Thansap.
I have been a barber for approximately 7 years.

Growing up watching my father create art, combined with my childhood love for anime, toys, and character design, I have always been deeply inspired to explore creativity in all its forms.

My journey into sculpting began with a love for action figures and a desire to create my own characters. After facing cost barriers with 3D software, I stumbled upon the AKICTH 2023 contest. I decided to enter, not for the prize but to challenge myself, marking the very first time I worked with actual sculpting clay.

This experience led me to meet Mr. Archavin of Dark’s Skull, a pivotal mentor who taught me valuable techniques and introduced me to Nara Lightweight Clay. I am deeply grateful for his inspiration and for being a pioneer who paved the way for new artists like myself to discover this medium.

Through perseverance and dedication, I achieved the Gold Medal in 2025.

This piece reflects my existence as a "Frankenstein", an entity assembled by society, people, and the Eight Worldly Conditions. Using the crow to symbolize the fluid definitions of humanity and the repetitive cycle of life, the work ultimately suggests that true understanding comes from accepting change, embracing oneself, and letting things float away without attachment.
